Krampus

£68.00

In mythology, Krampus appears alongside Saint Nicholas, a shadow to his light. While Saint Nicholas rewards kindness, Krampus punishes mischief, reminding us that morality was once taught through both fear and balance.

Rooted in older pagan winter traditions, Krampus represents the untamed forces of the season and the long, dark nights. The chains he carries symbolise restraint and consequence, remnants of pre-Christian pagan rites, involving symbolic binding and scourging.

Painting this ancient figure onto a fragile, discarded tea bag felt fitting, an object transformed into a keeper of old stories that still echo beneath our modern Christmas celebrations.

Beautifully handpainted with acrylics on a upcycled tea bag making it a unique, unusual and sustainable piece of art.

The painting comes mounted and framed in a black 6" x 6" square acrylic box frame, with mount *

Perfect for brightening up a shelf or side.
Signed and stamped on the back.
